Terms
Last updated August 13, 2026
Still Alight lets you light a real-time flame page for someone you lost, and lets the people who loved them keep it alight. Using the service means you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.
The flame
- The first hour of a flame is free. No account is needed.
- Each new person who joins a flame’s circle keeps it alight for a day from the moment they join — including someone who joins after it has gone to rest, which lights it again. Joining is always free, and joining again does not add more time.
- Paid light: a fixed stretch of time bought once — a day, three days or a week — or an Eternal Flame, which is a subscription billed monthly or yearly and burns until you cancel, then rests after a day’s grace. The price of each is the one shown at checkout. Prices may change for future purchases, never for ones already made.
- The honesty promise: the flame is real time. It burns exactly as long as the page says — we never pretend. If the light runs out, the flame rests, and anyone can relight it. What you see is filmed candlelight — real candles, really filmed, never simulated and never AI-generated. It is not a physical candle lit in a room somewhere for your person; it is their page, and the time on it is true.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. The Eternal Flame renews on the interval you chose — monthly or yearly — and can be cancelled anytime: open the flame’s page on the device you lit it from and choose “Manage or let it rest”, which opens Stripe’s billing portal — or simply email support@stillalight.com and we will do it for you. Cancelling stops future charges. If a payment is declined we will tell you and keep the flame burning while the card is retried; we never take the light away over a billing problem. If something went wrong with a purchase — a mistake, a double charge, a flame that didn’t behave as promised — write to us and we will make it right.
Your words
Names and words you leave are displayed publicly on the flame’s page, and you give us permission to show them there. You are responsible for what you write. This is a place of remembrance: we may remove content that is abusive, exploitative, unlawful, or plainly against the dignity of the person remembered — and we may put out flames created to mock or harm. If a flame concerns someone you have a right to speak for and you want it removed, tell us.
What we don’t promise
The service is provided as-is. We work to keep it up, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted operation. Our total liability for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months.
Who we are
Still Alight operates under its own name. For anything at all: support@stillalight.com. If these terms change materially, the date above changes and the new terms apply from then on.
